Special Permission for residence
The Minister of Justice may grant special permission to stay in Japan for
illegal residents if it finds certain grounds for them to stay.
For example:
1 He or she is a child of Japanese or a child of the person who has obtained
certain specific permission for permanent residence.
2 He or she raises a child of his or her own whose mother or father is Japanese or the person who has obtained certain specific permission for permanent residence.
* The child should be an infant.
* He or she should be a person in parental authority.
* He or she actually has raised a child in Japan for certain periods.
3 He or she marries with Japanese or the person who has obtained certain specific permission for permanent residence.
In spite of those mentioned above, there are no definite grounds for which
special permission could be granted.
