Cancellation of Passport endorsement

When a foreign national has acquired Japanese nationality, procedures for cancellation of passport endorsement are required.
It is necessary to have the related passport endorsement cancelled in one's passport at the Regional Immigration Bureaus, etc.

Transfer of endorsement to new passport

When a foreign national has obtained a new passport, procedures for transfer of endorsement are required.

Certificate of authorized employment

Procedures for a certificate of authorized employment have been established by the amendment of Immigration Control Act which came into effect on June 1,1990.

In case a foreign national who is authorized to work in Japan and wishes to engage in the similar activities under another employer, he or she may file an application for certificate of authorized employment, for the purpose of confirmation , or whether the new activities may fall under the current status of residence.
